Plumbing snakes and plungers still have their place, but when it comes to major clogging problems, hydro jetting makes clogs a lot less painful. If you have a backup that is either a) recurring, or b) too stubborn to fix by snake or plunger, trenchless solutions are the way to go.
There are three main reasons for that:
1. You can have the problem thoroughly diagnosed for utter certainty on what’s causing it–and what the most cost-effective solution is.
2. You can completely purge the clog, rather than merely getting the pipe flowing again.
3. You can have an inspection carried out after the job is done, so you know the problem’s behind you.
When your pipes backup repeatedly, there’s an issue somewhere down the line that isn’t going away .Getting the line moving again is necessary, obviously, but it’s only a band-aid solution. For example, you can have a bend in the pipe (due to poor design or installation) that is a catching point for sewage.
You also could have a break in the pipe that is holding up the flow, causing a traffic jam for subsequent waste to run into. You might move it down the line with a plunge or a snake, but your real nemesis is still lurking below.
You might have a root penetrating the pipe, or you might even just have a chunk of debris stuck to the pipe that needs to be dislodged. An inspection via trenchless camera will tell you exactly what’s going on.
Hydro jetting is one solution for all of the above problems
Hydro jetting can solve backups of any magnitude. Dirt, food waste, cloth material, sewage, grease…almost anything. You could stuff a 3’ length (or more) of pipe with dirt and grass, and blast it all out with hydro jetting.
Hydro jetting is exactly what it sounds like–applying a high-pressure stream of water to blockages to break them up. The operator can apply only as much force is needed. And the debris can go either up or down the line, as needed. So if you did actually have 3’ (or more) of line densely packed with debris, any dislodged waste could move away from the clog.
The nozzle is set up to spray a stream straight ahead, into the blockage, plus multiple streams at a backwards angle. The backward spraying streams create a flow of water that can sweep away any freed up waste.
All we really need is access to the sewer line. This is typically through a clean-out fitting. That means your yard won’t need to be torn up to solve the problem–hence, the term “trenchless”. If we can’t find a clean-out in a convenient spot, we can always patch one to the pipe.
The point is, you no longer need to excavate your yard to diagnose, inspect, clean, unclog, repair, or update your pipes. The trenchless revolution is here, and it’s making life easier for both home owners and service companies.

Keep trenchless solutions in mind for when you have pipe problems. A qualified operator near you can solve the problem in less time for a lower cost.
